We've used many models of hand-held Tesla coils at our museum to do various demonstrations. Our major issue has always been safety and ease of use. Every model before has either had a difficult to reach cord switch, or no switch at all- only the dial. This meant that there was no way to immediately shut the coil off; it would take several seconds to manually dial it down or reach the switch. With this momentary on/off swith on the coil itself, the demonstrator is always in full control of the coil. It's a feature we were glad to find on this model, and I'd recommend it highly to anyone who uses a hand-held Tesla coil, especially near children.
