Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

This is a large scale demonstration that can sit on a demonstration table for a typical classroom (20-25 students). I would not use this for a college lecture hall unless you could video tape it and display the video on an overhead projector. Some colleagues and I are planning on designing one of these deomonstrations using steel cable and 11 lb bowling balls!!

Because it wobbles, it does not maintain momentum very long.

Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

I had a smaller one last year that was used so much that it actually broke. When I put this new one out for my students to play with (I keep science toys out for my students to mess with before and after class) they all flocked to it and all wanted to play with it (and I teach 8th graders). They LOVE this item.

Nice Size; Dull Ball Color
By KamsciVerified Purchaser from Fortville, IN on 6/2/2007
Pros:
Easy To Use, Effective Demonstration, Fun, Interactive, Promotes Learning
Cons:
Dull Color
Best Uses:
Home, School, Students, Teachers
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

I bought the demonstrator for a child. I liked the size and it worked well, but the finish of the balls was very dull like they had had a reaction with something. It may have just been this set, but I was only disappointed by that aspect.

Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Remember to unpack it in the upright position...if not the balls get all tangled!

Best Newtonian Demonstrator Around
By Mike from Costa Mesa, CA on 10/17/2006
Pros:
Easy To Use, Effective Demonstration, Fun, High Quality
Best Uses:
Home, School, Teachers

Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

This is the best Newtonian Demonstrator around. Most of the cheap demonstrators click for a few seconds before stopping. This one goes on for a very long time.

centerpiece of the classroom
By John from Sandy Spring MD on 10/10/2006
Pros:
Easy To Use, Effective Demonstration, Fun, Interactive, Promotes Learning
Cons:
Alignment problems
Best Uses:
Home, School, Students, Teachers

Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

Newton's Cradle is a wonderful demonstration of momentum and kinetic energy. Students love to drop the balls and become intrigued by the puzzel of its motion. It is a great summary of the conservation laws.

alignment of balls is hard to maintain
By fuzzy logic from Iowa on 9/18/2006
Pros:
Effective Demonstration, Fun, Interactive, Promotes Learning
Cons:
Alignment hard to keep
Best Uses:
School, Students

Comments about Arbor Scientific Newtonian Demonstrator:

Have to continue to monitor alignment as the balls slip on the nylon line. When alignment is correct it works well
