Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Use with stopwatches or GoMotion sensors to have students graph constant motion. Works well on floor or table top.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
We just ordered new cars at the end of last school year. The cars' gears froze within minutes of first-time use within my freshman classroom on about 50% of the cars. The cars' tires would not role and the cars' motors would squeal and start to smell. I had to keep replacing cars. They were brand new and students were not abusing them. We have used earlier versions of these buggies for years. They have always been a bit flimsy, but I've never seen so many breakdowns so quickly. I am planning on calling the company to complain.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
This is a great toy I remember from my childhood (80's). Not only does it demonstrate constant velocity but when if flips over, it is a great center of mass demo.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
I use it for physics labs on motion to create and interpret graphs.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Use these for beginning motion studies. Great results with constant velocity.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
These buggies hold up to use year after year. The students enjoy using them and they are a great way to conduct lab activities like "The Paper River."
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
This product is great for helping students learn about and understand speed.

Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
It is basically a toy car. I moves much too fast for little kids to measure the velocity with an ordinary watch.
It would have been much better if a speed regulator dial was provided, so that kids can be introduced to the concept of speed etc.
I was able to attach a hook in the back to to make the car pull various loads.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
This car works great for Hewitt's "Go, Go, Go" lab (Conceptual Physical Science). The improvements are a much better on-off switch and a screw closure on the battery compartment. These are parts that broke easily on last year's car.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
This yields perfect constant velocity for students to easily see, especially with a tape timer, provides a great visual.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
I used these in a lab comparing acceleration to constant velocity. They worked great. A minor issue that they didn't drive all that straight, but straight enough to work for the lab.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Product needs to have the rod to replace one battery so that the car can move slower.
It would be useful to add suggested activities.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
The 8th graders had a lot of fun during the constant velocity lab using these cars. They were easy and fun to use. It took us some time to install the batteries, but after we did we had a great time!
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
My AP Physics students used the constant velocity cars to design labs for the high school physics class. They enjoyed the constant velocity cars 10:1 over solar racers or hydrogen cars.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Excellent product as far as I can tell. Only had it for a short time. Should be used along with the pull-back car to show very clearly the difference between constant speed and acceleration.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Met my expectations, out performed all other cars in the experiment.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
The car is too fast when I use it for relative motion labs on a moving river but I have slowed it down by removing a battery and inserting a short piece of metal tubing in its place. That works wonderfully.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Great labs with constant velocity, Would be nice if I could get spare parts instead of pirating cars that have worn out.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
We used it to graph motion in class. I have used it as both a lab activity and a demo. It is a good, basic product that is affordable and well made.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Students can learn easily with Vernier's Motion detector what means constant velocity.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Great for demonstrating all types of motion
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
Works well, but moves a bit too fast to allow for easy measurement in finding speed.
Comments about Arbor Scientific Constant Velocity Car:
I use the constant v car when I am demonstrating Disctance and Displacement concepts. I run the car right and left and have the car flip when I place down my foot. I ask students questions such as "What is the car's total distance travelled?" and "What is the total displacement travelled by the car?", etc. A great use of this toys because of its slow speed and ability to flip 180 degrees with little effort. Students love toys in explaining mundane concepts!
