If you are considering buying a less expensive model from a chain store - think again. There is no comparison. This model projects a sharp image that fools students into thinking there is an item that they can pick up. Focus a flashlight on the image - it casts no shadow - perfect for students of today.

I love having this on my desk. When someone comes up after school to ask a question, they reach for the coin/toy/trinket I have in the mirror. They're always surprised that their fingers go right through it.
Be careful to keep an eye on it or it will walk off after school. Definitely not a toy. It can be easily scratched or bent.

I have purchased 7 of these over the years because they get handled so much! Thousands of people handle them (therefore it is no fault that they wear down.) All ages love this and are amazed.

I use it as a great demonstration of real images versus virtual images. It leads into a great discussion of magic and holographic technology. Cleaning fingerprints off is a bit tricky, otherwise it is very easy to use.

I used it with my kindergarten kids to teach about the five senses and the sense of sight. For older children, it fits in with light and mirrors. Great fun!! Even the custodian was enjoying it.

My 5, 7 and 10 year olds were very intrigued by the image. They have great fun playing with it. The only limitation is that the real object size is limited to a size of less than 0.75 inch. I would strongly recommend purchasing the larger size version if money allows.
