I start off using a balloon by itself with air, and then discuss using water... the kids make some hypothesis and then I get them to try it themselves. Then I show them what I can do with this piece of equipment. It leads to some great discussions.

I use this as an air pressure demonstration that air pressure is from all directions. Works well in a small group setting where students can see well, just not in a large lecture hall or lab.
