Mini Ripple Tank

Mini Ripple Tank allows for detailed observation of all aspects of actual moving waves

Ripple tank wave generators are such a wonderful way to demonstrate the principles of wave propagation, reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference, but they can be time consuming to set up and take down. This Mini Ripple Tank addresses these issues by providing a completely self contained device, requiring no set-up apart from the addition of water.

Easy changing of wave frequency! Excellent for showing diffraction, 2 source interference patterns, refraction, and reflection.

Great for small groups! It is small and portable, making it great for small group demonstrations or stations.

Use with the Physics Flex Cam for a large audience demonstration! Use in combination with the Physics Flex Cam for larger classroom and lecture hall settings.

All the equipment needed to generate waves is included! The wave generator is built into the body of the unit and has an electronic drive circuit to vary the frequency which is also synchronized to the light source. Dippers can be plugged into the generator by simply pushing them into the stem.

Very portable! Waves are generated in a small, rectangular tank which is placed on a raised, transparent shelf over the internal illumination source. A hinged, semi-opaque screen is situated above the tank and images of the waves are projected on to this for study. When access to the tank is required the screen is lifted out of the way.

Well designed to avoid issues with reflections off the walls! The sides of the tank are specially designed to absorb waves thus avoiding multiple reflections which cause confused patterns.
