You may be wondering what is an embroidery hoop doing on a website with so many cool science items?
Well... we are not trying to give students something to do if they are bored in class. The hoops are actually used in a demonstration similar to the old "pull the tablecloth out from under the dishes trick". Balance the hoop on top of a narrow mouthed bottle and then stack nuts on top of this. If you are up to the challenge it is possible to yank out the hoop and have the nuts fall inside the bottle. Set up a challenge to see who can get the most nuts in the bottle. Embroidery hoop is wooden and 10" in diameter.
