Immerse your students in the world of forensic toxicology with a comprehensive, inquiry-based investigation that mirrors real-world forensic procedures. In this hands-on activity, students analyze simulated urine samples from suspected criminals to determine the presence of alcohol, illicit drugs, and pain medications using a variety of validated lab techniques.
The class will perform specific screening tests, including the Marquis Test for Morphine, Simon’s Test for MDMA, THC Immunoassay, Cocaine Immunoassay, and the 6-Monoacetylmorphine Test. Through analysis and interpretation of results, students will draw conclusions and produce detailed forensic reports, reinforcing scientific reasoning and data literacy.
This all-inclusive kit provides materials for 30 students and includes reproducible Teacher Manuals and Student Study Guide masters.
