Product Details
This easy-to-use apparatus for determining the speed of sound in air ties quantitative evidence to a conceptual definition of sound. The unit contains two sensitive microphones connected to a control circuity that will start and stop a millisecond timer. Alternatively, the outputs may be monitored on a storage or pc oscilloscope. The apparatus produces a sharp sound in line with the two microphones and then records the time taken for the sound to travel between them. The speed of sound apparatus is supplied with a 9V battery, a 6-meter connecting cable, and full instructions.
