Product Details

Following a widespread illness among students who consumed the school’s lunchroom chili, suspicions have arisen regarding potential contamination of the food.

In this forensic toxicology investigation, students will analyze samples and conduct chemical tests to determine whether any chili ingredients were substituted with aspirin, (acetylsalicylic acid) a bottle of which has recently gone missing from the nurse’s office.

As part of the analysis, students will also perform confirmatory tests on a control sample of pure acetylsalicylic acid to support accurate identification and comparison of results.

Through observation, data collection, and evidence-based reasoning, students will work to uncover the cause of the outbreak.

Kit contains enough material for 15 groups. Teacher's Manual and Student Study Guide copymasters are included.
