Item # P2-7960
Insurance Inst for Hwy Safety
What happens to vehicles and their occupants in crashes is determined by science. Griff Jones, award-winning physics teacher, goes to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Vehicle Research Center to explore the basic science behind car crashes.
An effective and exciting review of Newton's Laws.
"The video, 'Understanding Car Crashes: It's Basic Physics' and accompanying teacher's guide are wonderful..."
- Paul Hewitt, Physics Teacher
What happens to vehicles and their occupants in crashes is determined by science. "You can't argue with the laws of physics," says Griff Jones, award-winning high school physics teacher, who goes behind the scenes at the Institute's Vehicle Research Center to explore the basic science behind car crashes: inertia, crash, forces, momentum, impulse, and a lot more.
Griff Jones is an assistant professor at the University of Florida's P.K.Yonge Developmental Research School in Gainesville. He has directed the elementary science laboratory program and taught high school physics since 1987.
